Updated on: July 12th, 1999Well, lots of stuff has been happening since my last update. Probably the biggest news is that I was kicked out of college at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. I went before the academic committee in early June and they said goodbye to me. Live and Learn I guess. I really loved Rose and the atmosphere but that's not enough. The part that sucks most is that Rose said I can come back if I get my GPA up, so I need to go somewhere else to do that, but so far I've only gotten a reply from Northern about my application there, and they want my GPA up before they'll even let me, so it's kind of a vicious circle and I'm being screwed all around. What else? I didn't find a decent computer related job like I hoped, and am working for my dad on MSU's campus unfortunatly. It pays decent though, and if you want job security, working for a parent is almost as best as you can get. I just got back from spending a week at our cottage on a lake. Here's some pics of our place up there if you want to see. Before I went up there last weekend, I went to the Super Computer Sale in Lansing on Sunday. I spent about $35... got two 365M hard drives, an ISA Network card, and a six foot length of cat5. All but one of the hard drives is for my sister's computer I'm putting together for her to take to college in the fall. On the brighter side, some things have been good. For my birthday in June I got a Philips USB cam, and a nice BayNetworks 4-port hub among other things. I put my network card (Thanks Travis!) out of my 486 desktop into our new HP Pavilion downstairs. Thanks to my new hub and my 3com PCMCIA card in my laptop, me and bro have been playing long hours of multiplayer Quake2 against each other. When I heard about Windows98 SE being released a couple weeks ago, I was happy about ICS , but really didn't want to pay $20 for the CD just to be able to share an internet connection. Instead, yesterday I got WinProxy from a friend (Thank you Brett the Cable Modem God!) and set it up. Works great, me and bro are both in the den sharing our little 56K dial-up . It may not be even close to fast, but we can both play Realms of Despair and be on ICQ at the same time. :) Still trying to get my page closer to completion, where at least all the pages are here, and have content. If you want to leave some info, feel free to email me or take my survey. Other than that, not much else to say. Last update is in the Archives section as always. - Medlir |
